MAY 2022

Thank you to everyone who attended our 1st ever event in May of 2022! It is community involvement like this that drives positive change. We can't wait to see everyone in the years to come!

This year, we welcomed many fantastic guest speakers who taught us how to effectively identify and manage depression and/or depressive symptoms. 


First, Active Minds™ speaker Abraham Sculley spoke about his experience as a new college student who struggled with depression, and his journey to receive help after overcoming cultural and societal stigma. Abraham was followed by clinical psychologist Dr. Barbara Kapetanakes, who spearheaded a Q&A session and discussed how to effectively communicate with teenagers who need support but are not entirely open to the idea. We closed with a presentation from Stacy Hendrie, a health coach who spoke about the correlation between healthy habits and maintaining mental wellness.
